Shakespeare - sonnet 116

 

진실한 사람들의 결혼에

장해를 용납하지 않으리라.

변화가 생길 때 변하고

변심자와 같이 변심하는 사랑은 사랑이 아니로다.

아, 아니로다! 사랑은 영원히 변치 않는 지표라,

폭풍을 겪고 동요를 모르는.

사랑은 모든 방황하는 배의 북두성이로다,

그 고도는 측량할 수 있어도 그 진가는 알 수 없는.

사랑은 세월의 놀림감은 아니라

장미빛 입술과 뺨은 세월에게 희생이 되더라도,

사랑은 짧은 시일에 변치않고

심판일까지 견디어 나가느니라.

                이것이 틀린 생각이요 그렇게 증명된다면,

                나는 글을 쓰잖으리라, 인간을 결코 사랑하잖으리라.

Let me not to the marriage of true minds

Admit impediments: love is not love

Which alters when it alteration finds,

Or bends with the remover to remove.

O, no! it is an ever-fixèd mark

ma impavido resiste sino al giorno del Giudizio.

                Se questo è errore, e sarà contro me provato,

allora io non ho mai scritto, e mai nessuno ha amato.
